Prof. dr hab. inż. Robert Iskander

Prof. D. Robert Iskander is with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology. He obtained his doctorate in 1997 (Queensland University of Technology, Australia), his habilitation in 2010 (Silesian University of Technology). He was awarded the title of professor of engineering and technical sciences in February 2021. His research mainly concerns methods of signal and image processing and their application in ophthalmology, but also deals with visual optics, optometric and ophthalmic instrumentation, applied statistics, applied mathematics, detection and estimation, and bootstrap methods.

Prof. Iskander is the co-author of over 300 international scientific papers, including over 150 in peer-reviewed international journals. He is also the co-author of 13 international patents, mainly concerning the construction of contact lenses. He has graduated 22 PhD student and he currently looks after four more doctoral students.
